Activity Centre to encourage manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to launch in time for Christmas

Galt expands Dr Miriam range

Galt Toys has expanded its popular Dr Miriam product line, with the introduction of the Activity Centre.

Suitable for children from six months, the toy (priced at £24.99) comes with 11 different interactive features.

The hand press, finger pull, spinner, rollers and levers have been designed to aid cognitive development, manual dexterity and the learning of ‘cause and effect’. Meanwhile, the small mirror in the centre of the toy helps babies learn about the concept of self.

The product comes with a play guide written by Dr Miriam, with advice for parents on how to use the toy to aid a child’s development.

“The relationship between play and learning is vital for a child’s progression, so we are delighted to have developed this fantastic Activity Centre as part of a great range with Dr Miriam Stoppard, highlighting the importance of play and parental involvement,” said John McDonnell, MD of Galt Toys.

Dr Stoppard added: “The Activity Centre has been designed to teach children about the concept of cause and effect. For example, when a red button is pressed the toy squeaks. Interaction between babies and their parents is a crucial part of development and helps teach important physical, intellectual, manual, language and social skills.”
