India’s first LEGO store opens

The first LEGO brand store has opened in India.

Funskool India, which has the national distribution rights for LEGO in India, opened the shop in Chennai on Saturday.

"Funkskool has been at the forefront of enthralling children with a wide range of toys, games and puzzles," said Funskool India chairman Arun Mammen.

"Taking the mission ahead, we seek to offer a experiential touch point where children get to explore the vast range of construction toys and exciting games."

LEGO makes up 15 per cent of Funskool’s turnover in India and the firm is hoping to open more stores across India.

"Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore are big markets for LEGO in India," added R. Jeswant, VP sales and marketing at Funskool India.
