US: Mattel teams up with NASA for Mars Explorer Barbie

Mattel has teamed up with NASA to help send Barbie to Mars with the launch of the ‘Career of the Year’ Mars Explorer Barbie doll.

The doll will be adding a touch of glamour to the Red Planet with ‘a stylish space suit with pink reflective accents, helmet, space pack and signature pink space boots.’

The launch of the Mars Explorer Barbie coincides with the one-year anniversary of the Mars Rover Curiosity landing.

No-one can accuse the iconic doll of laziness as the Mars explorer role is the latest job to grace a CV brimming with more than 130 careers.

‘Career of the Year’ Mars Explorer Barbie is out now in the US with an SRP of $12.99.
