100 year old toy store first in UK to feature LEGO Next Generation Instore

Exeter toy shop, Thomas Moore Toymaster has become the first store in the UK to be fitted out with the latest interactive LEGO display.

The 100 year old family owned store now features 80 square metres of LEGO play area alongside interactive display boxes, TV monitors and large LEGO models.

The new interactive display and a six foot LEGO model was unveiled with a special opening event attended by Exeter’s Lord Mayor.

The store’s owner, Terry Alford is reportedly delighted with the new shop fit, that allows him to sell hard to find LEGO sets alongside the main range.

"It’s a major coup for us to be the first Next Generation Instore shop in the UK," Alford told Exeter Living.

"LEGO is a popular choice with our customers, and having a dedicated section allows us to showcase so much more. We’re constantly looking for new ways to evolve and keep ourselves relevant to the local community.

"We have been trading from this site for 107 years – who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

"The refit is a fantastic way of giving Exeter a LEGO collector centre as we’ll be stocking hard to find sets in addition to the main range."
