Vivid has signed as master toy licensee for the X Factor’s latest boy band sensation, Union J and is developing a range to hit stores in January 2014.
The toy firm will develop a range of collectable dolls, accessories, games and puzzles all featuring members of Union J.
The quartet have already experienced chart success with their debut single and have announced a theatre tour launching in December.
The boys’ debut single will also feature in summer blockbuster Kick Ass 2, which hits screens this August.
In the midst of the activity, the Vivid team is planning a Q1 retail launch with projected sales in excess of 150,000 unites in the first year.
"Union J are set to be the next big boy band and look to have every opportunity to be a huge success," said Mary Wood, marketing director at Vivid.
"What’s important for the toy industry is that girls who will be watching Union J’s every move are right in the target market for buying fashion dolls.
"Vivid are fast tracking the development of these dolls to ensure we get them out to market following the hype of the boys’ own tour."
