Meccano is the focus on tonight’s episode of ‘How Do They Do It’ on the Discovery Channel.
The show, which investigates how things actually work, visited Meccano’s manufacturing, research and development facilities in France and learned how Meccano is made and who creates ideas for new models
"Meccano is a timeless toy that is still true to the original system invented over 100 years ago by Frank Hornby. That’s what sparked interest from ‘How Do They Do It’,” said Sue Barratt, country manager at Meccano Toys (UK) Limited.
"The toy industry has seen countless fads and fashions over the generations but Meccano remains one of the most popular construction toys around. ‘How Do They Do It’ reveals how we’ve introduced new technology, new production processes and new ideas that brings Meccano into the 21st Century and extends the appeal of the brand to today’s children and parents."
The programme airs on tonight at 20:30 on Discovery Channel and is repeated on Saturday 27th July at 19:30 on Discovery Science Channel.
