The YBike Evolve, a three-in-one smart bike for kids, is going down the Kickstarter route to make it to consumers.
The Evolve develops peddling skills before becoming a balance trike, until it finally transforms into an advanced balance bike.
“No parent wants to restrict their child’s development but as parents, our team knows how expensive and time-consuming it is to keep buying a new bike every time your child grows out of the old one,” said Jaco Kruger, co-founder of Chrome Cherry Design Studios and MD of YBike.
“This is the fun and unique bike that grows up with your child. It’s like a transformers trike-bike for children”.
The adjustable seat suits the growth of a child from the age of two upwards to five without the use of training wheels.
“The Evolve is the result of years of work on design and structure and we want to create something that promotes our kids’ interest in physical and outdoor activities – especially in this modern day and age,” added Jean van der Merwe, co-Founder and design director.
“The team has also worked hard on its beautiful design, so that it looks sleek as well as being smart and effective”.
The founders expect the YBike Evolve to start shipping by August 2013 and the Kickstarter page goes live today.
