My Wonder receives “greater interest from overseas”

Wondercube cracks America

The team behind the multi-award winning pre-school toy Wondercube says it’s excited by its US sales debut.

The educational activity product – a cube packed with textile squares that children can pull out – has just introduced a new Dinosaur collection. And it’s resonating with retailers across the globe.

“We’re noticing a greater interest from overseas,” Helen Twigge-Molecey, founder of My Wonder, told ToyNews.

“We’ve sold to individuals in various countries around the world before, but now we are being approached by more shops. For the first time we’re selling to North America and our latest trade customer is from Slovenia which is very exciting.

“Winning a Slow Toy award was a massive boost for us; we saw a big increase in sales and it was fantastic to see our product in Selfridges.

“Our main customers are small independent retailers and that’s something we feel passionate about, but it would also be fantastic to see our Wondercube Dinosaur fillers taken on by High Street stores.”

The Wondercube allows little ones to use a variety of skills and encourages them to explore, while helping to stimulate babies’ senses and develop their fine motor skills. My Wonder says children can grow with the product, so once they’ve got to know the Dino family, parents can invest in more add-on fillings, from numbers to letters, storybooks and more.

“This is the beauty of the Wondercube,” added Twigge-Molecey. “The possibilities for add-on fillings are infinite. Other areas we are looking into at the moment are languages and music.

“The Wondercube also features a family of rabbits called The Wonders; we will soon be launching an interactive storybook for the iPad starring this inquisitive engaging family.”
