Doll company opts for Spanish production to 'fight against' Chinese market domination

Spanish Doll firm Las Pequeñas Ole hunts for UK distribution partner

A doll specialist based in Spain couldn’t find any homemade dolls – so it decided to make its own.

And now Las Pequeñas Ole – or The Little Ole – is on the hunt for a UK distribution partner.

The 43cm plush dolls are handmade in Spain from natural fabrics.

Manager Maria Jose Bonilla told ToyNews: “90 per cent of toys are made in China. We set up Las Pequeñas Ole to fight against this situation, for fair trade and competition, and for the respect of the human rights of any person anywhere in the world.

“[A distributor] would be another way to introduce my product in the UK. But it has to be a special one. I would love to find retailers who really take care of their shops and love their job.”
