Journalists and bloggers packed into The Camden Centre in London for the event

Almost 200 turn out for Christmas in July

Close to 200 journalists and bloggers packed into The Camden Centre in London for this year’s Christmas in July.

The event gave the press a look at 2013’s big Christmas toys and 30 toy suppliers showcased their ranges including Flair, Inspiration Works and Esdevium Games.

Christmas in July also played host to the Mums Choice Awards which saw leading mummy bloggers note down their picks for what will top children’s Christmas lists this year. The results of the awards will be revealed tomorrow.

“This year’s event had a great attendance both from journalists and bloggers, highlighting just how much the media has altered in recent years,” said event organiser Claire Taylor from Evolution PR.

“With mum’s opinions becoming more and more important and consumers searching social media when making their buying choices, this online word of mouth plays an increasingly important part in today’s marketing plans.

“Feedback from the bloggers at the event was very positive with many of them voicing how important it was to get a true feel not only for the toys and gifts they blog about but also for the toy companies themselves.”
