Company experienced a "huge surge" in online interest.

SweetDreamers boosted by Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday Twitter initiative

The company behind a baby sleep aid toy is the latest to have been boosted by Dragons’ Den star and business mogul Theo Paphitis on social network site Twitter.

SweetDreamers, creators of Ewan the Dream Sheep product, was one of the six winners of his weekly ‘Small Business Sunday’ initiative.

Paphitis retweeted the company to his 361,794 Twitter followers. And as a result the business experienced a "huge surge" in online interest, gaining new followers and visitors to its website.

SweetDreamers is also now profiled on – a section exclusive to Small Business Sunday winners.

Last week, Lynda Harding (pictured), owner of SweetDreamers, tweeted Paphitis in the hope of being one of the winners of his weekly initiative.

Harding said: "I created Ewan following numerous sleepless nights after the birth of my son. Ewan emits soothing sounds and a warm pink glow to create a relaxing environment that lulls babies into a peaceful slumber.

"To gain this recognition from Theo is just fantastic and will really help raise our profile. 2013 has been an amazing year so far and it just keeps getting better.

"I started this business to help other parents with baby’s bedtime, so I am a big supporter of small businesses. I think Theo’s initiative is a great idea ad I really admire that it encourages businesses to support each other."

Businesses or individuals looking for a re-tweet from Paphitis can tweet him each Sunday between 5pm and 7.30pm with the hashtag #SBS.

Six will be re-tweeted every Monday at 8pm and then invited to enter a profile on the new site, which is sponsored by Ryman Stationery and chaired by Paphitis.
