Disney denies Narnia claims

Disney has moved to deny claims that it is looking to ditch the Narnia film series.

Rumours out of the US suggested  that if this summer's Narnia sequel, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, didn't match or improve on the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe's box office, Disney will nix the rest of its planned adaptations of the remaining C.S. Lewis books.

Sources also claimed that even if the plug is pulled on the full Narnia series, the studio will still complete the in-production third film of the series, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

But Disney has moved to deny the claims, saying: "We are committed to telling all of the great stories in the Chronicles of Narnia anthology. Also in the UK, we are working with the following licensees for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian toy range including Vivid/Playalong, Carta Mundi N.V, Christy’s, Ravensburger and Winning Moves.   Vivid is the Master Toy License in the UK".
