Wowopolis makes US Toy Fair debut

Firm has unveiled its first line of games and crafts at the show.

Wowopolis' Sound It! Found It!, Puzzle Match and Colorgami will be the first products in the line-up and are expected to be available at retail in mid-2012.

"Today’s kids need to break free from the confines of the digital world, which is one of our guiding philosophies,” said Wowopolis founder and president Ari Weinstock, whose experience includes working with some of the most popular kids’ brands and properties, including Transformers, Voltron, the Jonas Brothers, and such top-selling children’s candy brands as Baby Bottle Pop, Ring Pop and Bazooka Gum.

Prior to founding Wowopolis, Weinstock served in key marketing roles at Classic Media and at The Topps Company.

"Expensive digital products get the attention – but consumers and retailers alike are clamoring for the ‘Wow Factor’ in affordable, fun entertainment for kids," Weinstock continued. "Nothing can match having a real-world experience that truly spurs your creativity and asks you to do more than tap a screen – actually engaging your senses and building your imagination."

The first Wowopolis brands of games, crafts and activities, which have received strong pre-launch response from retailers and will be seen at Toy Fair, are:

•    Sound It! Found It! – The two-in-one board game is both a guessing game of silly sounds and a hidden-object game featuring original, slightly zany scenes drawn in a hilariously unique, contemporary style. Players of all ages can enjoy it together – or even take it on the road with the Sound It! card game, sold separately. 

•    Puzzle Match – Designed for kids ages three to six, the game features memory and matching play and once the matching portion of the game is complete, players get to assemble them into a giant scene.

•    Colorgami – Debuts with several thematic sets, including Space Adventure, The Red Carpet Fashion Series and Alphabet Pop-Ups. Each features four giant sheets, including themed environments and accessories, plus markers. When the colouring is finished, the illustrations can be popped out, folded and constructed into a three-dimensional scene.

All six creations from Wowopolis will be displayed in booth 5289 on the Toy Fair show floor.
