Smoby builds new factory in France

Firm confirms it is to open a new production facility in Arinthod, France.

When contacted by European Plastic News, the firm confirmed it was building the new plant, but would not disclose details.

It has been reported, however, that the firm is planning to move production from Lons-le-Saunier to the new 4,000 - 5,000 m2 facility.

Plastics Information Europe has also reported that the site in Groissiat will be converted into a logistics centre.

Following it being taken into administration in 2007, Smoby was taken over by German company, Simba Dickie in 2008.
