Seven year-old wins TravelBug design contest

Primary school kid Joseph Piggot's drawing is now a real TravelBug product

A child has been named the winner of a nationwide competition to design the next TravelBug for Content & Calm.

Seven-year-old Joseph Piggot of Monkston Primary School in Milton Keynes beat hundreds of aspiring designers to see his drawing - Peter PirateBug - turned into a real product. This will hit shelves around the country soon.

Ten per cent of profits made from the TravelBug will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Acction.

The prize was presented by Content & Calm founder Solvej Biddle.

Biddle said: “We were absolutely blown away by the quantity and calibre of entries along with the creativity that we saw from this competition. But, when we saw Joseph’s entry, we knew that Peter PirateBug would fit perfectly with the rest of the gang.

"After losing my own mother to Ovarian Cancer, I wanted this competition to not only create a new TravelBug but also to help make a difference and that’s what Peter PirateBug is going to do.”
