Sambro raises £52,000 for Seashell Trust

The funds were raised during the toy firm and Cardinal Maritime’s inaugural golf day.

During its inaugural golf event, Sambro and Cardinal Maritime raised over £52,000 for the Seashell Trust.

Held at The Mere Golf & Spa resort in Cheshire on September 8th, the event played host to 20 teams, while TV presenter Denise van Outen hosted the golf day.

During the day several other activities also took place, including a Golf Trick Show provided by David Edwards on the first tee and gin tasting provided by Manchester Three Rivers on the eighth hole.

“Thank you very much to Cardinal & Sambro and their colleagues and suppliers for raising an incredible amount,” said Rachel McCrystal, of the Seashell Trust.

“It will fund a class room in our new school and help to transform the lives of some of the country’s most profoundly disabled children and young people.”

Over £52,000 was raised in total thanks to an auction and other cash-raising activities, including Swing or Put.

The money will go towards a new classroom at the Seashell Trust School, a charity that was founded in 1823 as a school for deaf children.

Tom Duffy, MD at Sambro, added: “We have a fantastic relationship with Cardinal and so it was brilliant to team up with them to raise money for such a great charity.

"As well as making lots of money, it was also a great way to highlight the great work the Seashell Trust do as well as having a fun, (albeit extremely competitive), day and evening with colleagues and customers.”
