NEW YORK 09: Princess and the Frog line unveiled

Disney Consumer Products, Mattel and CDI, a division of Jakks, reveal toy line inspired by the film.

Tony Award-winning actress/singer Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Princess Tiana, unveiled the range, which includes dolls, play-sets and role-play dresses at a sneak preview event at the American International Toy Fair in New York City.

DCP also unveiled a new collection of Snow White toys in celebration of its first Disney Princess fairytale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which releases from the Disney Vault on Blu-ray hi-def and DVD this autumn.

Opening at Christmas 2009, The Princess And The Frog marks Disney's return to musicals and 2D hand-drawn animation. The film also introduces Disney's newest princess in more than ten years, Princess Tiana.

Mattel presented a one-of-a-kind Princess Tiana doll created specifically for Rose in celebration of her role.

Actress Rose commented: "I saw early models of the toy line, but seeing them today in final form, they are just beautiful. What an absolute thrill to be a part of something so timeless."

In addition to toys, DCP will also introduce a line of The Princess and The Frog-inspired apparel, accessories, home decor, consumer electronics, school supplies and personal care products arriving to US retailers this Autumn.

Disney Publishing Worldwide will launch an assortment of titles including story and activity books.

Disney is also honouring its first princess, Snow White, with the introduction of a new toy line set to release this October to coincide with the Blu-ray debut of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - one of the most requested Disney home entertainment releases of all time.
