The toy brand is confident that its latest slot car following its partnership with Mclaren will be a hit with fans, which will be bolstered with additional items in 2018.
With a solid relationship dating back to the 1960s, it seems working with McLaren was a natural step for Scalextric who has recently teamed up with the sports car brand to create a slot car of the new McLaren 720S.
For supercar fans unable to purchase the real McLaren 720S model, Scalextric is confident that the slot car will be a hit with fans, both young and old.
“We’re sure this news is welcome to super car and slot racing fans around the world, especially those fond of McLaren cars,” Ricky Black, head of brand for Scalextric, told ToyNews.
“This will prove hugely popular to families and children who are keen followers of supercars.”
Having already worked with iconic brands such as Aston Martin, Bugatti and Lamborghini, Scalextric’s further items to its McLaren portfolio are a welcome addition.
“We were delighted to work with McLaren again and jumped at the opportunity to produce this exclusive car for slot racers,” added Black.
“It’s not often that such a prestigious and world-renowned automotive manufacturer allows a slot racing brand to develop a car before the real thing has been launched, so a huge thank you to McLaren.”
More products are also set for launch in 2018; however, the firm is remaining tight-lipped on these details for now.
“For now I’m afraid we can’t say anything about these are they are still confidential. There will be more news and we’ll be sure to share with you first,” concluded Black.
