MCM Comic Con takes majority stake in Kidtropolis

Under the new deal, the outfit – famous for its Comic Con consumer shows and for being the winner of the UK’s Best Consumer Show two years running – will bring a team of marketeers and events experts to Kidtropolis.

MCM Comic Con owner, MCM Central has taken a major stake in the children’s consumer show, Kidtropolis.

Under the new deal, the outfit – famous for its Comic Con consumer shows and for being the winner of the UK’s Best Consumer Show two years running – will bring a team of marketeers and events experts to Kidtropolis.

Kidtropolis is a consumer event for children and families, celebrating brands through experiences. The show made its debut in October 2016 where it achieved over 18,500 visitors across its three days.

This year’s Kidtropolis will take place at London’s ExCel during the October half term. Tickets will launch after Easter and companies are being advised to secure their involvement throughout April and May to maximise their proposition.

MCM Central CEO, Bryan Cooney, said: “We knew from just the concept that Simon and Gemma had a winner with Kidtropolis, the first show proved that there is a market for the unique offering for families and especially children aged three to 12; a truly winning formula.”

Kidtropolis managing director, Simon Pilling, added: “I am so thrilled to announce our partnership with MCM Central. A market leader in events and a team of consumer experts will really help to rocket the Kidtropolis brand.

“We can’t wait to reveal our plans for 2017’s show.”
