Uli Kilian will solve 100 puzzles while running the marathon to set a new Guinness World Record.
To raise money and awareness, Ulia Killan will run the London Marathon and solve 100 Rubik's Cube puzzles in the process. He estimates he will be running and solving the cubes for five hours – a huge mental challenge.
All of Uli's cubes will be scrambled using the World Cube Association (WCA) scrambler and he will carry his first twenty cubes 'in a rucksack, on a belt or a special vest.'
The solved cubes will be exchanged for scrambled ones along the way, until all 100 have been solved.
Prostate cancer accounts for one quarter of all cancers diagnosed in men, and is the second most common cause of cancer death in UK men. In 2009, prostate cancer killed 9,402 men.
Uli Kilian's motto is "Moving mind and matter against cancer."
Last year, Uli's father was suffering from prostate cancer. "We were all very frightened at the time and the worst thing was that we weren’t able to do anything about it" he says on his website.
"I am very grateful that my father survived and I want to raise as much as I can in order to donate it to Prostate Action."
So far, Uli has raised £2,100 and has a goal of £3,000.
If you would like to donate, you can do so at Uli's JustGiving page.
