Little Charley Bear breaks into Australia

Big Balloon signs up as master toy licensee in the territory.

Chapman Entertainment and licensing agent, Haven Licensing have signed the deal for Little Charley Bear - currently airing on CBeebies in the UK and launching on ABC2 in Australia from March.

The contract with Big Balloon will see the company distributing a range of pre-school toys including plush, puzzles, play-sets and games. The line is expected to be on shelf in Australia by spring/summer 2011.

Valerie Fry, director of licensing, Chapman Entertainment commented: “Big Balloon bring to the table amazing energy, focus, experience, and fantastic retail and trade relationships.

"As a start up company they also have a hunger to succeed, which is exactly what we are looking for on Little Charley Bear.”

Tony Oates, managing director, Big Balloon, said: "Big Balloon is incredibly proud to be appointed as the Australian master toy licensee for Little Charley Bear.  We genuinely believe that Little Charley Bear embodies all the educational, adventuresome and fun attributes that makes a truly successful pre-school brand.

"Our relationship with Chapman Entertainment is pivotal to the long term success of Big Balloon. We are both extremely excited to be bringing ‘Charley’ into the homes of Australia’s pre-schoolers."

Chapman Entertainment has worked with Big Balloon company founders (Tony Oates and Chris Loverso) on two other pre-school properties, Fifi and the Flowertots and Roary the Racing Car.
