LEGO Ghostbusters moves one step closer to being made

The set has made it to the review stage on LEGO CuuSoo

A LEGO Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary set has moved one step closer to becoming a reality by making it to the Review stage on LEGO CuuSoo.

As a result of reaching 10,000 supporters, Brent Waller's project now moves into the Review stage where a 'LEGO Review Board' composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will take a look at the idea.

The project sees Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, their Ectomobile 'Ecto-1' and the fan favourite ghost Slimer all recreated in LEGO.

On the CuuSoo page, LEGO stated: "Ghostbusters fans around the world have shown that they want to see a commemorative LEGO set and you’ve now reached the milestone where we will evaluate the potential of creating a set based on your proposal.

"We'll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards"

The project will form part of the quarterly review beginning in September and if it gets the green light, will move into the Development phase.

The most recent project to hit shelves as a result of LEGO CuuSoo was the LEGO Back to the Future set.
