John Lewis unveils virtual shop

Retailer is using mobile commerce to extend click and collect offer.

The retailer is trialling a new window display in the Brighton Waitrose branch, which features products and QR codes, which links shoppers' the products on the johnlewis.com site via their mobile.

Products in the window will include items from John Lewis' top 30 favourite things for Christmas including the Lego Sort and Store head, which, if ordered before 7pm will be available to collect from 2pm the next day.

John Lewis marketing director, Craig Inglis, said: "The roll-out of our Click and Collect service to Waitrose shops is proving incredibly popular. This new 24 hour virtual shop in the heart of Brighton takes that convenience to another level."

The trial window display runs until the end of December.
Click and Collect is now available from 129 John Lewis and Waitrose shops.
