Firm is looking to recruit a retail manager for its consumer products division.

The consumer products department facilitates the development of merchandise for Nickelodeon brands through UK retail outlets. The consumer products division licences all types of products with the key areas being: Toys and games, books, clothing and accessories, food and promotions, video/DVD and video games.

Another key aspect of the Consumer Products business is liaising with all UK retailers to ensure they support Nickelodeon brands by stocking licensees’ product ranges.

Reporting into the UK vice president, but also collaborating with the European brand management team at Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products.

The role’s main responsibilities include the development of long term strategic partnerships with retailers to ensure Nickelodeon's properties are selected over its competitors and therefore maximise royalty revenue across the portfolio.

The role also requires the retail manager to drive deeper retail penetration across a broad range of CP categories; to work closely with the UK VP, UK licensing director and licensing managers to support specific cross category and individual category retail initiatives.

The retail manager will also liaise with the EMEA European retail director on pan European retailer opportunities; develop DTR programmes; develop property exclusives; work with key licensees to support retailer pitches by way of joint presentations and develop promotions and promotional opportunities with retailers, including events such as the Nickelodeon Mall Tour.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate a detailed understanding of retailer buying calendars and be able to implement relevant retailer promotions using this knowledge. The role requires the individual to update the buyer database and ensure this information is shared with the team.

Regular retail audits will need to be carried out, ie a least once a quarter for all major retailers. This information must then be collated and distributed to the UK team to help guide and inform on retail opportunities.

The retail manager must also liaise with the retail marketing manager to ensure channel marketing teams are supporting CP brands online and on air.

This role could only be fully maximised by a car owner/driver and extensive UK travel is an essential function of this role

The successful candidate for this role will have had previous solid experience of dealing with UK retailers, strong presentation skills, be proactive and be able to demonstrate initiative.

They may also have had considerable direct consumer product experience or come from a retailing background. They will be passionate about the Nickelodeon brand and be able to convey that passion to retailers.

Nickelodeon UK is a commercial kids' TV network comprised of dedicated award-winning entertainment channels for kids aged two to 12, including Nickelodeon, Nick Toons, and Nick Jr.

The Nickelodeon channels are available in over 11 million cable & satellite homes. The company includes television programming and production in the UK and around the world, plus consumer products, online, recreation and feature films. Nickelodeon UK is a joint venture between MTV Networks and BSkyB
