Jakks Pacific renews licensing deal with Disney

‘The expansion has allowed us to open new distribution channels, sell direct to retail and focus on the rapid expansion of online sales,’ says Jakks Pacific’s Stephen Berman.

Jakks Pacific has detailed a new multi-year licensing agreement renewal with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media in China, which will see the launch of new merchandise for several properties.

The agreement spans more than 50 Disney entertainment properties such as Disney Princess and Disney Frozen, as well as Disney’s Moana and Beauty and the Beast for the doll category.

Additional properties will also cover dress-up, role-play, costumes, masks and accessories, along with a roster of classic and new entertainment properties for Disney Tsum Tsum collectables, action figures and ride-ons.

"We are delighted to renew and expand our relationship with Disney China. Jakks has strategically opened offices in Shanghai as well as in other areas of China, and over the years has grown to better support key licensing opportunities such as this agreement with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media,” said Stephen Berman, chairman and CEO of Jakks Pacific.

“The expansion has allowed us to open new distribution channels, sell direct to retail and focus on the rapid expansion of online sales to increase our footprint in this important and growing market.”
