Illuminated Apparel leads the way with wearable tech

Since launch, the wearable technology firm is on track to reach £250,000 for the current financial period.

Having recently appeared on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, wearable technology firm Illuminated Apparel is on track to reach £250,000 for the current financial period.

Founded by Rob Manley, the brand was created in Manley’s mum’s kitchen, where he mixed up the winning formula for his interactive glow in the dark t-shirts.

By using the included UV key ring or Mobile Phone Torch Light, kids can draw things on their t-shirts, before watching it disappear after five minutes.

Since appearing on Dragons’ Den, the interactive t-shirts have since made their debut in the Red 5 concession in toy store, Hamleys.

Manley told ToyNews: “It’s all the fun of an etch a sketch but on a t-shirt – perfect for a disco.”
