‘It is truly and honour to be inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame on behalf of a brand I value and believe in,’ said Hot Wheels’ Steve Vandervate.

Hot Wheels is adding a new member to the Diecast Hall of Fame, in the form of the brand's lead designer Steve Vandervate.

Recognised as one of the ‘Diecast Designers’ for his work in graphic design on Hot Wheels premium and Red Line Club, Vandervate will be added during the ninth annual Diecast Hall of Fame ceremony in Las Vegas.

"It is truly and honour to be inducted into the Diecast Hall of Fame on behalf of a brand I value and believe in," said Vandervate.

"From basics to collector graphics, the best part of designing for Hot Wheels is the final outcome and ultimately knowing that my cars bring joy to fans of any age."

Vandervate first joined the Hot Wheels design team in 2003, where he held the position of graphic project designer.

He will be joining a number of other Hot Wheels designers that have been honoured by Diecast Hall of Fame, including the likes of Elliot Handler, Larry Wood, Phil Riehlman, Ira Gilford, Bob Rosas, Mark Jones, Otto Kuhni and Howard Rees.
