The popular mobile arcade video game Fruit Ninja is expanding into board games thanks to a new tabletop game Kickstarter project.

The Fruit Ninja – Tabletop Game Series Kickstarter campaign is now live as it looks to secure $10,000 in pledges to develop three original Fruit Ninja themed board games.

The project is the result of a collaboration between Lucky Duck Games, Halfbrick Studios and 50 of the most creative game designers in the board game industry.

After reviewing 20 different prototypes, the team has selected three to submit to the Kickstarter platform: Fruit Ninja – Card master, Fruit Ninja – Slice & Dice and Fruit Ninja – Combo Party.

“The support we have received from Halfbrick has been amazing and now we are incredibly excited to be launching this Kickstarter campaign and get the last bit of support from our community to bring the unparalleled fun of the Fruit Ninja digital experience to a physical form shared at home with friends and fanily,” said Lucky Duck founder, Vincent Vergonjeanne.

With more than one billion downloads, Fruit Ninja’s core value of accessibility and humour is the ideal match for a series of tabletop games, read a statement from the firm.
