Hasbro to cut 170 jobs

82 per cent of the job losses will be from the US as firm recovers from a sluggish Christmas season.

Reuters has reported that Wayne Charness, a spokesperson for Hasbro confirmed that 140 of the redundancies will be in the US, with around 55 in Rhode Island.

Charness went on to explain that each of the employees affected will get competitive severance packages, including outplacement services.

"These moves were made to address both the under-performance in the US and Canada segment, and the need for different skill sets in the company's workforce to be better aligned with a quickly evolving business," Charness explained.
