Hasbro backs Transformers video game with toys

Eight action figures are released to tie into Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.

Hasbro has identified another cross-market opportunity, announcing a range of action figures to accompany the Transformers: Fall of Cybertron video game from Activision.

Eight toys have been announced so far, the most notable of which is the huge combiner Bruticus figure, which is made up of of five smaller Combaticons.

Like the combiner figures from the ‘80s, which saw five individual robots combining to form a bigger robot, the most popular Combiner is Devastator, which is made up of the six Constructicons.

This new Bruticus is made of five deluxe sized figures, meaning it is potentially the largest of its kind ever, and the first ‘proper’ example of a combiner since the early ‘90s.

Three other figures have also been revealed – Autobots Optimus Prime and Jazz as well as the Decepticon Shockwave. There have been very few examples of Shockwave released since the ‘80s original, and is bound to become highly collectible.
