Ebay reveals top toy sales data

The online marketplace has revealed the sales data for its top performing toys from last year's holiday, outlining its predictions for this year's ones to watch.

Ebay has revealed the sales data for its top toys from last Christmas, outlining its ones to watch for the coming holiday season.

Hatchimals is tipped to be a big hit once again this year, with the firm reporting that last year a Hatchimals item sold every 30 seconds and were the #1 key search term on eBay.com. Hatchimals are set to make an impact on the market again this year with the new, bigger, Hatchimals Surprise line which was released last week.

Pokemon and LEGO are set to be big hitters again this year, with a Pokemon item selling on the service every four seconds and a LEGO items every six seconds, according to last years' data.

“Last holiday season, Hatchimals and the Nintendo NES Classic were among some of the most in-demand holiday gifts. Expect more of the same this year, as the new Hatchimals Surprise and SNES Classic Edition are already popular among eBay shoppers," said Michael Mosser, eBay’s GM of Lifestyle, Media, and Toys.

"On eBay, searches are spiking for new breakout toys such as Fingerlings, Luvabella, and L.O.L. Surprise dolls. In each of these cases, supplies are already running low at most major retailers; and, eBay has once again become the best place to get hard-to-find holiday gifts.”

Other must-have toys tipped by the firm include Fingerlings, Luvabella, LOL Surprise and the SNES Classic video game system.
