This week Blizzard reveals its first foray into collectibles while Funko reveals Star Wars plush.
As the western world continues to crumble under the weight of its bad decisions, industries that specialise in creating joy are booming. The past month has seen a slew of blockbuster video game releases, pushing the industry into what some are calling a new golden age for the medium. Blizzard Entertainment, the juggernaut video game publisher behind such hits as World of Warcraft is capitalising on this trend with its first foray into the world of collectables in the form of a range of high-end Overwatch collectables.
The first in this line has been revealed as fan favourite sniper character Widowmaker. You can check out Blizzard's teaser video below for the figure that we retail for a whopping sum of $150 (£123). The firm has previously licensed out its merchandise to external companies, but we think you'll agree, these in-house designs are pretty darn impressive.
As always, Funko has a strong offering of licensed product, starting with these adorable Star Wars plush dolls. You can relive an iconic scene from Empire Strikes Back, in a decidedly less gruesome fashion with the Luke and Wampa Hoth plush set, in addition to the Tuscan Raider and Bantha set, hitting shelves in April.
In other Funko news, the firm is bolstering its Rock Candy range by branching out into the world of Harry Potter, with these highly detail Wizarding World figures. Fans of TV show Teen Wolf rejoice as this cult hit is also getting the Funko Pop! treatment.
