Chancellor opens 60th Spielwarenmesse

The Nuremberg Toy Fair doors opened this morning following an official speech from the German Chancellor last night.

The show was officially opened following yesterday's press preview, with an opening speech by the German Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel and a presentation of the ToyAwards 2009.

Further events throughout the show include a press get-together on Friday at 5.30pm in the East Press Centre to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the International Toy Fair.

Exhibitors and visitors have been promised 'a spectacular evening full of entertainment and surprises' after the show closes on Friday at 6pm at CCN Ost at the Exhibition Centre.

Saturday evening will see the show's birthday party take place in Nuremberg city centre, Karolinenstrasse from 6pm.

The 36 companies that will this year exhibit for the 60th time at Nuremberg will be honoured on Sunday at 6pm at the Piazza, CCN Mitte, Level 1, Nuremberg exhibition centre.

Finally on Tuesday at 11am, the press are invited to a closing press conference in the Hongkong room, CCN Ost, level 1, Nuremberg exhibition centre.
