Castle Grayskull toy to return

Classic He-Man play-set to be re-made following Matty Collector pre-order drive.

He-Man’s hideout and early ‘80s favourite Castle Grayskull is to be re-made following a special promotion on Mattel’s toy collector division Matty Collector.

The website asked its community to pre-order the $250 play-set in order to finance the project. The product will only be available to those who pre-ordered and will not be mass-produced for retail.

This Castle Grayskull will include new features and, crucially, will be larger than its original to accommodate the newer, bigger-sized He-Man action figures available from Matty Collector.

Matty Collector talks about the reason for the pre-order business model on the product page: “Why are we offering it for pre-order now and asking you to make a commitment when the design hasn’t been finalized? Because the production cycle for an item like this takes over a year and is extremely costly.

“It’s going to be the biggest, most iconic, most detailed, most accessorized piece of Masters of the Universe real estate ever built.”

He-Man is rumoured to be returning to the big screen in a
Masters of the Universe reboot
