The multi-platform launch covering animated shorts, Calling All Mixels App and LEGO Mixels sets will begin this February
Mixels - the global franchise created by Cartoon Network and The LEGO Group - is set to make its UK debut this February.
The multi-platform brand will premiere online at Mixels.com on February 10th, shortly followed by the launch of a series of animated shorts on Cartoon Network from February 15th.
Soon after, kids and fans will be able to 'mix, max and murp' their own LEGO Mixels collectible building sets, as well as download the Calling All Mixels App.
The Mixels is a collection of creatures that can mix and combine with each other to create unique characters.
Divided into three tribes: the Infernites, the Cragsters and the Electroids, the Mixels have to pit their creating prowess against their foes, the Nixels - annoying and destructive creatures who try to tear down and break apart the tribes.
LEGO Mixels Series 1 - which has already scooped the Pocket Money category at this year's Toy Fair Best New Toy Awards 2014 - is a new series of buildable toys based on the eccentric characters.
Sets will be batched and released throughout the year in their respective tribes and will 'enable kids to mix, combine and create new characters using the mysterious Cubits.'
Meanwhile, fans will be able to engage with the brand further at Mixels.com, a central hub offering shorts and bios on the characters as well as the chance to explore the environment of each tribe.
The site will also offer access to exclusive mini-games.
Cartoon Network's animated shorts will consist of one to two minute segments, following the adventures of the Mixels as they 'mix' (two characters combine) 'max' (all three members of the tribe combine) or 'murp' (just don't fit together).
Created for Cartoon Network by John Fang (Ben 10) and Dave Smith (Powerpuff Girls) Mixels is produced by the team at Cartoon Network Studios.
Finally, and completing the multi-platform launch, the new app Calling All Mixels with challenge users to find the lost Mixels, discover new lands and create new mixes.
Developed by Hibernum Creations and published by Cartoon Network Games, Calling All Mixels features 3D graphics as players tackles the Nixels head on.
