Board Game Club set to be 'bigger and better' in anniversary year

The club will mark the anniversary with an overhauled games menu at the Board Game Club First Birthday Bash in March.

Board Game Club promises an “even bigger and better” line-up for 2015 as the grown up games night prepares to celebrate its first birthday next month.

The club, founded by Toyologist Peter Jenkinson and Playtime PR’s Lesley Singleton, will mark the anniversary with an overhauled games menu at the Board Game Club First Birthday Bash on Thursday, March 12th at The Jam Tree, Clapham.

The club, which regularly pulls in an eclectic crowd of gamers, inventors, executives and journalists at its monthly meet ups, now promises to deliver more themed events, including an outdoor evening in summer, a movie night and a crowd-funded evening.

“We are so proud of how Board Game Club has successfully established itself in just a year,” said Singleton.

“So we have been working really hard on our plans for 2015: there will be more themed nights, including a Movie Night showcasing film-linked games and a crowd-funded night for games which only exist thanks to the likes of Kickstarter.

“We will also continue to work closely with the incredibly creative inventor community, helping people test and share their new ideas with our friendly crowd.”

Following a successful London Toy Fair, the Club will also be growing its relationships with some of the bigger name brands, utilizing the event as a platform to launch new titles in the coming year.

“We really made the most of London Toy Fair, meeting with the likes of Paul Lamond, University Games, Hasbro, Cartamundi Drumond Park, Esdevium, John Adams and Coiled Spring to find out more about the new games they are bringing to market in 2015,” added Jenkinson.

“It was great to hear such positive noises from the games brands, all of whom are keen to use Board Game Club to spread the word about their new releases. There are also some brands which want to embrace what we do even further, with exclusive nights and some interesting new ways of partnering with our events to add value to their own marketing plans.”

Board Game Club’s First Birthday Bash is on Thursday 12 March 2015 at The Jam Tree Clapham from 6pm. The event is free but you do need to register on the guest list by emailing BoardGameClub@PlaytimePR.com or by clicking here: http://tinyurl.com/mj47d45
