The festive event, taking place on December 4th, promises to feature 'all the very best Boxing Day boredom-busters'.
The next Board Game Club event will be a 'Christmas Unwrapped' special.
The montly event, which launched back in March, boasts a carefully-curated menu of card, dice, party and board games, with guests allowed to mingle and discover games together in a relaxed and informal environment.
The next Board Game Club will take place on Thursday December 4th at The Jam Tree, Clapham, and the event promises to be brimming with 'all the very best Boxing Day boredom-busters'.
“Bucking the industry trend, we’re having our Christmas in December” said Board Game Club co-founder, Playtime PR’s Lesley Singleton.
“So this next event is our big festive bash – we’re bringing all the Christmas and Boxing Day family and party favourites to the table and we’d love for even more people, and games, to join us.
'Christmas Unwapped' follows last week's Board Game Club Frightfest.
The Halloween-themed event saw the launch of spooky surgery-based game Frankenstein's Bodies, with the game expertly demonstrated by the team from the popular online tabletop review show, Rollin’ Dice Show.
The Frightfest special also saw Board Game Club welcome strategy games for the first time as the likes of Pandemic and Zombiecide joined regulars including Boom Boom Balloon and Dobble.
“This is the first time we’ve opened up our games menu to accommodate some of the more ‘serious’ strategy games,” added Singleton.
“So it was interesting to see how our crowd interacted with titles such as Zombie ’15, Pandemic and Zombiecide, as well as the grisly Frankenstein’s Bodies. The buzzing crowd were certainly curious and leapt into the games with their usual gusto. That said, it was a Board Game Club party favourite which won the ‘game of the night vote’ yet again – Spin Master UK’s Boom Boom Balloon. Dobble came a close second, with two Kickstarter successes – Frankenstein’s Bodies and In A Bind – sharing joint third place.”
Board Game Club co-founder and Toyologist, Peter Jenkinson, added: “We had a lot of new faces at FrightFest including more journalists from both trade and consumer titles, more people from the industry and a compendium of gamers who’ve heard about us from friends and Board Game Club regulars. It was also great to see a few people from the recent Toy & Game Inventors Workshop.
"Hosting the Frankenstein’s Bodies launch gave us and The Jam Tree the opportunity to get creative with a themed cocktail and the brilliant people at Firebox.com added to the night’s spooky vibe with some pretty unique props. Finally, Spin Master UK was kind enough to sponsor a ‘Moustache Smash-ed’ cocktail for fans of the game, which confirmed its place as a Board Game Club staple."
