The advert, showcasing the digital retailer’s festive offering as its neon coloured yetis skate through the streets of London, will premiere tonight.

Argos has pipped John Lewis to the post in the annual race to release its Christmas advert with a quintuplet of yetis ice-skating amid a fleet of BB8 toys.

The advert, showcasing the digital retailer’s festive offering as its neon coloured yetis skate through the streets of London, will premiere tonight.

In a further attempt to kickstart the festive cheer this season, the retailer has placed it Yeti ambassadors in several locations across the UK’s capital, including the ice rink at the National History Museum, Millenium Bridge, Westminster Bridge and the City of London.

Last year, high street retailer rival, John Lewis' Christmas campaign featuring the Man on the Moon helped the retailer see swift sales of both its children's and adult telescope kits.

Prior to this the retailer heped toy companies across the UK to a pick up in sales of plush penguins owing to the popularity of its CG animated advert campaign featuring a cast of cute creatures. John Lewis is yet to unveil its 2016 campaign.
