"As a consumer and trade journalist there might well be a chance that I’ve been a tad spoilt this past decade. Generally, to see brand new stuff, we’ll get a chance to squeeze in before the masses begin to descend, just so we can run off and report on said event to get even more people interested in whatever it is we’ve just seen, first – I consider it a privilege.
The trouble comes when there’s something I’m desperate to go to but it involves getting down with the crowds, no special treatment, no free transport, turn up with the masses and make your way to your destination on your own – I already admitted I’d been spoilt."
