Mark 2 Air Swimmer design features Turbo Boost and Auto-Fly settings.
Wow Stuff has signed a licence with Rovio to produce a pair of Air Swimmers based on the app phenomenon Angry Birds.
The forthcoming range of 'Mark 2' Air Swimmers, including the Angry Birds designs, were originally planned for a 2013 launch.
However, Wow Stuff is making a limited amount of the Angry Birds Red Bird and Space Bird (inspired by the latest Angry Birds Space game) models available to retailers in time for this Christmas.
The full Air Swimmers 2 launch is scheduled for April 2013.
“Limited stock will be available so whoever shouts first and books stock will sell out,” said Wow Stuff CEO Richard North. “We decided to make a quantity available in 2012 for those retailers that love exclusives or non-mass market availability.”
The Angry Birds designs will use the new Mark 2 design, which comes complete with Turbo Boost and Auto-Fly systems.
The products will make their first public appearance on a national TV show. Last year the original Air Swimmers caused a stir after appearing on the Jonathan Ross Show.
Speaking about the Angry Birds designs, North added: “Because of the massive appeal and recognition of the Angry Birds brand we wanted to do something really exciting and different. Air Swimmers are a perfect fit and everyone who see’s the finished toy is blown away, including a certain well known chat show.”
Wow Stuff has told ToyNews that new Air Swimmers designs will be revealed later this year.
