MGA denied request to make Gaga sign-off licensed dolls; Toys might not be ready in time for Christmas.
MGA Entertainment's licensed Lady Gaga doll line could be in jeopardy as the firm was denied an emergency court motion to force the star to approve the in-production toys.
MGA has taken Gaga to court with a $10 million breach of contract suit, claiming the singer purposely delayed production and engaged in “intentional and deliberate delays” and acted in “bad faith”.
The conflict arose when Lady Gaga asked to have a voice chip removed from the dolls, a move which MGA said would push the release of the toys past they key Christmas period.
In court on July 25th MGA asked to force Lady Gaga to sign-off on the licensed toy line but the plea was denied pending an official hearing on August 29th.
"Lady Gaga is pleased," said the singer's spokeswoman.
