Bladez Toyz' inflatable available to Google employees ahead of October launch.
A remote control Google Android robot will hit UK shelves in time for Christmas.
Bladez Toyz showed off the 65cm-high inflatable product at the ‘Christmas in July’ media event in London today.
The robot will be available to Google employees in the US and UK first, before arriving in retailers around October. It will go on sale in the UK, US, Europe, UAE, Australia and New Zealand.
It’s the latest in Bladez’ Pump and Play radio-controlled inflatable range, and comes with a modular underside. This can be unclipped and used with other products in the line, which can battle one another.
Bladez Toyz MD Iain Morgan told ToyNews: “We've developed a Google Android robot. We’re working in partnership with Brand Additions – Google’s official corporate gift company.
“If you’ve had a bad day at the office you can kick him over and he’ll bounce back, ready for some more.
“Other versions will be launching next year that will be compatible with the Google Android robot and characters within the Star Wars range.”
Bladez’ Star Wars inflatable character remote control toy line kicks off with R2-D2 this year, while Darth Vader, Yoda and Boba Fett – complete with rocket toy-firing jetpack – are due to arrive next year.
“The Google Android version will be slightly different to R2-D2, as the latter appears to children and adults,” added Morgan. “I think we’re going more for the Android market with the Android robot and we're billing it as a gift for adults."
The Google Android robot will be priced at around £44.99 and R2-D2 will cost £49.99.
Dragons Den tycoon Peter Jones has a 24 per cent stake in Bladez.
