Science video blog Veritasium has conducted an investigation into the classic toy, Slinky.

In a series of super slow-motion shots the team has captured the beauty of a falling, collapsing Slinky.

What is particularly amazing about Slinky is that when it is hung aloft and dropped, it literally stays suspended in mid-air until fully collapsed.

but don’t take our word for it, check out the video below. It’s probably the best Slinky video ever. (Or is it?)

Slinky was inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame in 2000.
