Video games publisher Activision has appointed The In Thing has an official distributor for the Skylanders range of toys.

The firm is supplying independent toy shops with three core lines – the main range of single figures, plus a Triple Pack and an Adventure Pack. Four weeks into the deal, and all three items are featured in The In Thing's top ten best selling items.

Activision continues to deal direct with the national chains for the property.

"The reaction from retailers [to the news] has been very positive," Paul Jackson, MD of The In Thing told ToyNews. "I think the Skylanders toys are among the most sought after products in the industry; demand is outstripping supply by huge volumes. For the first time ever, toys have been brought into gaming and the toy industry is only going to benefit from this."
