Marklin model could fetch £60,000 at auction.
A steam-powered model of HMS Terrible, made by German model company Märklin in 1905, is expected to sell for £60,000 at an auction in Newbury later today.
The toy battleship is part of a collection of models belonging to Ron McCrindell - author of the The Collector's Guide to Toy Trains and star of the 1972 BBC Two programme, Ron McCrindell's Toys.
Auctioneer Hugo Marsh said: "If it sells for that money it's going to be the most expensive single toy probably ever sold in the UK."
Founded in 1859, Märklin is still making model railway sets today.
