Nigel Kemp, owner of Halesworth Toys, struggles to get kids over the age of 11 into his shops.
It might be stating the obvious, but the average toy shop customer is getting younger and younger and there is no sign of that trend reversing.
In the old days, toy shops could attract older punters with the hobby and model sectors, but now more and more children are moving on to smartphones and video games, according to Nigel Kemp, owner of the Suffolk-based shops Halesworth Toys and The Toy Box.
In an interview with ToyNews, Kemp said: "When I first came into the business our oldest customers were 14, or even 15. Now we struggle to get children over the age of 11 into the shop."
