BTHA is hosting a number of special fundraising events to help raise £300k for the charity.
If the Toy Trust can raise £300,000 this year, it will break the £3 million mark in money raised since its inception 20 years ago.
The Thee Peaks Challenge takes place on the July 6th and 7th, and has already received huge support and is now fully subscribed. 95 keen and (hopefully) fit individuals representing 23 companies from around the industry, have agreed to hike the peaks of Mount Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis within 24 hours, all in aid of the industry’s charity.
A Money Can’t Buy auction will be launched in April offering people the chance to bid for ten distinctive and rare items/experiences.
The annual FUNdraiser- consisting of an alternative costume triathlon and other fun activities - will once again take place at Rutland Water on Friday June 22nd.
Members of the industry and indeed the wider public are encouraged to host their own localised charity event to help raise funds for the Trust. An Events Manual containing guidance on co-ordinating an event can be downloaded from the Toy Trust section of the BTHA website.
For more information on all the events and fundraising activities taking place in 2012, visit the BTHA website www.btha.co.uk/toytrust or contact Matt Jones on 020 7701 7127 or matt@btha.co.uk.
Overall, £180,000 was raised for the Toy Trust in 2011. In a bid to raise £300k in 2012, a great start was made with the annual Media Auction, which concluded at the Toy Industry Awards in January, raising £86,660.
Thanks to our media partners for their generous donations and to all those involved in helping to raise money for the Toy Trust over the past year.
Once again a huge thank you and congratulations to Andrew Brown on his world record breaking solo Transatlantic row. There is still time to sponsor Andrew via www.virginmoneygiving.com/andrewsatlanticchellenge
