Firm will act as exclusive distributors for the UK and Ireland.
Having enjoyed sell-out sales in the US and Canada at the end of last year, Turbospoke will make its UK debut at Toy Fair this year on the Ernest the Bear Toys stand (B60).
Turbospoke is a bicycle exhaust system and a re-imagining of the ‘playing-card-in-the-spokes’ concept. Using variable plastic ‘Moto-cards’ and a megaphone exhaust pipe, Turbospoke attaches to any kind of bike and generates realistic motorbike sounds.
Tom Maxwell, the Turbospoke creator, explains the US success: "One catalogue company sold over 5,000 pieces in a matter of weeks and demand grew so much so that the £17.99 item was selling for $150 on Ebay, it was unprecedented."
Mike Fitzgerald, Ernest the Bear, added: "Turbospoke is such a simple and innovative idea. Almost every child already has a bike so there is a ready market for this product.
"As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for our customers and the sales success in the USA is extremely encouraging."
