The hand-made bears are available now in a limited edition run of 2012 pieces.
Following the popularity of its London 2012 commemorative teddy bear released in July, Merrythought has now made a Paralympic version.
Each limited edition bear has its own number between one and 2012.
Steeped in heritage, all of Merrythought's bears are hand-made in a traditionally run factory near Much Wenlock, the home of modern Olympics.
The licensed Paralympic Games bear is based on a Merrythought pattern from 1948 - the year of the Stoke Mandeville Games, the event which is said to have inspired the creation of the Paralympic Games.
Deborah Johnson (nee Brennan), former 200m Paralympic gold medalist at Sydney 2000, is pictured at Merrythought’s home in Ironbridge, Shropshire, with the Paralympic teddy bear.
Merrythought's Olympic and Paralympic teddy bears are available fom the London 2012 shop for £85. Retailers can call 01952 433116 with stock enquiries.
