Firm undertook large-scale sampling activity in November to highlight the puzzle range.
Over 20,000 Wasgij samples were distributed to consumers at 15 key Argos stores across the UK.
The sampling activity, designed to attract new fans to the puzzle concept, involved the circulation of 54-piece Wasgij Original mini-puzzles containing money-off coupons offering £5 off a purchase of the full-size Wasgij puzzle.
An online marketing push for the Wasgij range is also underway through the new website, www.wasgij.co.uk which launched recently.
The site has three sections focusing on the Original, Mystery and Destiny Wasgij puzzles. Each section includes information, news and clues about each puzzle, as well as information about the Wasgij artist.
There is also a ‘Collect’ area for puzzlers to see which jigsaws they are missing from their Wasgij collection, as well as a section with free interactive puzzles to play.
Kirstie Oliver, marketing manager, Jumbo Games, commented: “The Wasgij puzzle range is a key priority for the company and we are dedicated to using marketing initiatives, such as in-store sampling, to encourage new converts to this fun and addictive puzzling craze.
"We are hoping consumers will be hooked after trialing the entertaining 54-piece mini puzzles.”
